We are excited to launch our 2017 EY Reconnect programme for career returners, providing a bridge for professionals re-entering the workplace after an extended career break.

What is EY Reconnect?

The 12-week programme offers a supported route back into work with induction, coaching and mentoring for talented individuals  who have had a career break of between 2 and 10 years - you will also have an instant peer group for additional support. This is an opportunity for you to reconnect with your career, your previous experience and expertise within business.  You will join client teams in our Advisory, Tax, Assurance or Transactions services, and will participate in varied project work.

What background and past experience is needed for EY Reconnect?

You will have worked as a manager or above, with a background in professional services, consultancy, financial services, technology or related industry.  

It’s not all about your technical experience. EY Reconnect offers the opportunity to join an inclusive and diverse workplace, where we encourage creativity and flexibility. It’s not just something we talk about; the  skills you’ve acquired from your career break will be celebrated and valued as much as those from your professional CV.

Which area would suit me best?

EY Reconnect offers roles across our advisory, assurance, tax and transaction business areas. Applications are open now for our September ’17 intake. At the end of the 12 weeks, all participants will be considered for ongoing roles with EY.

What if I don’t know which area is the best fit for me?

If you are interested in more than one area, please do apply for them and we can advise you on the most appropriate area.

Will I have to work full time?

The 12 week programme is designed to be full time to best give you the exposure, support and opportunities available. 90% of our past Reconnect participants joined us permanently on a flexible working arrangement that suited them and their teams.  All EY roles are open to flexibility and we are here to consult and work with  you on flexible working options should you join us at the end of the 12 weeks.

Are there any other intakes planned?

We aim to run our next Reconnect programme in Jan ’18, so please still apply if that is your preference.

Where are the opportunities based?

Roles are  available in various locations across the UK, including Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, London, Manchester and Newcastle. Please refer to the base locations on each of the opportunities.

Is EY Reconnect a paid programme?

Yes, you will be paid in line with the permanent roles for the teams you join.

Is it open to men as well as women?

The programme is open to anyone meeting the background and career break criteria.
