Actuarial Summer Internship Programme
Major regulatory change. The rise of emerging markets. Ongoing economic uncertainty. Technology-driven turbulence. Increasing consumer expectations. These are the primary challenges and issues faced globally by the insurance industry. These challenges also offer the key to future profitability for insurers who make the right strategic, investment, organisational and operational changes.
Our deep global knowledge comes from our work with insurance companies, banks, pension funds, private equity firms, sovereign funds and local regulators, and enables us to answer the key challenges our financial services and insurance clients face. We help our clients ask the right questions, set priorities and define the action plans needed to succeed in the fast-shifting insurance landscape, and by combining our global insight and local reach, we are able to assist our clients in developing and validating strategies to make sound decisions, deliver better outcomes and long-lasting results which determine business success.
Our Actuarial practice is part of the EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa) Insurance Risk and Actuarial Services team. We have one of the largest actuarial teams in the world, with over 550 actuarial and risk professionals in the EMEIA region and 1100 globally. This large and dynamic team, coupled with experience and fluidity across our global organisation, provides our people with great mobility across the globe and an ability to deliver multi-discipline solutions to our clients in different locations around the world.
Where can I complete an Actuarial Summer Internship Programme?
Actuarial Life: Edinburgh
If you are in your penultimate year of study, or in your final year and will be completing a 1-year Master’s degree or taking a gap year you can apply for our exciting four or six-week programme that starts with fundamental business skills and ends with you doing the same work as our graduates. You’ll be part of a team doing work for real clients.
How do I apply?
Complete the online application form, and you'll then complete online strengths assessments. If you're successful, you'll then be able to book yourself on a telephone interview - this is a good time to express your strengths and motivations in working for EY. If you're successful you'll then come to your local office for an assessment centre, where you'll receive an outcome based on your performance on the day. We'll do our best to bring you through the process in 8 weeks or less.
Due to limited Graduate and Summer internship spaces we would encourage you to submit your Actuarial application as soon as possible. Assessment Centres will take place from late September 2017, October, and November and places will be offered after each round of Assessment Centres and Final interviews.
