"I joined EY in June 2014 after leaving a large airline as a member of their Cabin Crew team. I have always been attracted to large companies so it was great to be offered the position within EY. I really enjoy meeting new people and building strong working relationships and I knew I would be able to do this within EY."
Hayley on…the UK Talent Shared Service Centre
"I originally worked as part of the Business Support Centre providing administrative support to a portfolio of Directors. I liaised with a number of UK Talent Shared Service Centre team members on behalf of my Directors for several reasons, i.e. scheduling meetings and interviews. I was always impressed with the professional, fast-paced and proactive approach from members of the team and wanted to find out more. It’s clear to see the UK Talent Shared Service Centre as a whole is a high performing team who embraces challenges. This attracted me as I felt this would allow me to enhance both personal and professional attributes. There are always opportunities within EY and career progression/goals are a high priority within the team, I’m always encouraged to think about my future and where I want to be."
Hayley on…her role at EY
"I’m currently working as a Scheduling Administrator in the Experienced Hire Recruitment Services team. Recruitment Services encourage me to lead my area in my role on a daily basis. I feel like I have complete ownership of my work with quality support from both my Team Coach and other colleagues. I feel confident to put forward new ideas knowing they will be taken into account and I enjoy dealing with a variety of people on a daily basis not just within the UK Talent Shared Service Centre, but with candidates, recruiters, Partners and the wider EY teams based overseas too."
Hayley on…her team
"The team is full of personality and whilst always offering a professional service we also know how to have fun and let our hair down. There are always team nights out and social activities being planned which I very much like to get involved in."
Hayley on…working in Birmingham
"I really enjoy working in Birmingham. I enjoy not only the social aspect of working in the city centre but also working for such a respected company which is well known within Birmingham. There is always so much to do, whether it is dinner out or a visit to the shops at lunchtime, I always feel like my finger is on the pulse and I know about any upcoming new things. I definitely like to visit new places so the recent development of Grand Central has been great to see. I actually live just outside of Birmingham so my daily commute via train normally takes around 30 minutes. I really don’t mind travelling in as I much prefer to be part of city life."
Hayley on…the office culture
"The office has a professional feel to it. As part of the UK Talent Shared Service Centre you meet different people every day. This is mainly due to a hot desking process which is a great way of meeting new people and finding out more about their role within the UK Talent Shared Service Centre, as well as them personally. It’s also always nice to then be able to say hi when you next see them. It’s clear to see everyone is busy on a daily basis, which creates a natural buzz in the office. Everyone wants to achieve the same goal – we’re all heading for Vision 2020 (our global vision) and we all understand the importance our role plays."
