It’s also worth noting that we close applications as soon as the set number of roles have been filled – so it’s best to apply sooner rather than later!

Sometimes, but not usually. Most of our apprenticeship or graduate programmes only have one intake, around August/September but there are some with start dates at different times of the year. To find out what each programme’s dates are, visit our programmes’ deadlines page.
We operate an open access to all policy and we don’t screen out any applications only on your academic performance at GCSE, A-Level or Degree. However, you’ll need a minimum of Level 2/GCSE (or equivalent if you’re an international student) in English & Maths.
We will assess your suitability using a number of tools throughout our market-leading recruitment process. We want to ensure your long-term success at EY so your academics do form part of our overall hiring decision as we will look at them in the context of your performance in the up-front stages of our recruitment process.

Yes, you can. We welcome applications from non-European nationals but there are some restrictions you’ll need to know about when you apply. First of all, you need to make sure you meet the criteria for people looking to work in the UK, before you start on a programme. You can find out more about working visas from the UK Border Agency website, here.
Then, depending on the start date of the programme you want to apply for, you’ll need to submit your application to us before the following dates:

Tier 2 sponsorship
As a general rule, applications for Tier 2 sponsorship require EY to show that there are no workers who meet the requirements for the role in the UK resident labour market. We therefore expect all roles will be filled by suitable workers (i) from the UK resident labour market and (ii) by those who hold a Tier 4 (General) visa. People in the second category (ii) will likely be currently studying for a degree in the UK and able to apply for a Tier 2 visa from within the UK, once they have completed their studies.
If you’ve been offered a job and are applying for a Tier 4 to Tier 2 visa, you must be in the UK from the time you finish your degree or master’s to the day you start your programme. Otherwise your in-country application won’t be viable. We also won’t progress any applications from Tier 4 (General) visa holders who’ll need to make their Tier 2 visa applications from outside of the UK. If you have a Tier 4 (General) visa, you must also make sure that your degree or master’s will be completely finished (including all course work) before the programme start date. This is to ensure your application from Tier 4 to Tier 2 can be processed before you start.
That said, if you require Tier 2 sponsorship, only some graduate programmes in certain locations can support all the conditions set out by the Home Office Code of Practice. They are:
Unfortunately, we can’t process international applications for programmes other than those listed above because of the salary benchmark set by the UK government.
Please also be aware that the Home Office regularly change immigration rules. If that happens, and the changes affect the viability of your application before your start date, we reserve the right to change how we process applications, in line with the new regulations.

Unfortunately, no. We can’t secure Certificates of Sponsorship for internships and fixed-term placements.
That said, if you're already in full-time education in the UK on a Tier 4 (General) visa, you might be able to take up temporary work during your holidays or as part of your studies, under current regulations. Our summer internships run for six weeks, and the Home Office has stated that you’ll need to give us proof of your term times, so we can confirm you’ll only be working in your holidays.
There are no special deadlines for applications for our summer internships, only the ones shown on the programmes pages. All you’ll need is the necessary right to work in the UK, by the time it starts.

We are unable to provide sponsorships if you require a work visa for our apprenticeship programmes.
Not necessarily. Most of our programmes are open to graduates with an honours degree in any subject. Only a small number require a specific degree, so please check the requirements of the programme you’re interested in.
Yes, you can but we can only defer a limited number of offers to the next recruitment year and you should also know that deferral is not guaranteed.
If you’re thinking of deferring, let us know as soon as possible during the selection process and if you’re successful, we’ll discuss the deferral process with you.

First of all, you need to be sure about which programme you want to apply to. Then, go to that programme page and click the ‘Apply now’ button. You’ll then be taken to our job portal where you can start your application by creating an account.
As part of the application form, you’re asked to select the office location you’d like to apply to. We recommend researching where the programme you’re interested in is offered and deciding where you’d like to work before this stage. You can find location information on each individual programme page.
For most of our programmes, it means is that you must have completed the required academic qualification before the programme starts and if you haven’t, your application could be rejected. If you’re still not sure, please see the below criteria:
When applying, you need to be in year 12/5th year completing 3 A levels, 5 highers or equivalent qualifications. You must also live within a 1 hour commuting distance from the office location you have applied for.
These Spring programmes are for undergraduates in their first year of university (or year 2 of a four year course). Each one has unique criteria so check the details of the programme you’re interested in, here. Students from UK universities are eligible and standard travel costs are reimbursed within an agreed limit.
When applying, you need to be on track to achieve, or have achieved, three A-Levels, five Scottish Highers or equivalent, before the start date in September 2020. If you're now working, you'll have attained 3 A levels, 5 Highers or equivalent qualifications.

Mitigating circumstances are any serious circumstances that are beyond your control which may adversely affected your academic performance.

It’s really important that you upload any formal certifications or correspondence that you have which can serve as evidence in relation to your circumstances. You don’t need to disclose spent convictions to potential employers under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, but you do need to declare unspent convictions. Cautions, convictions, reprimands and final warnings can all be considered spent after their rehabilitation period has ended, which is decided by the sentence or when you receive an out-of-court disposal.
That said, some roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Chartered Accountancy is one of them, so if you’re applying for a programme that leads to membership of a Chartered Accountancy body, you must disclose all spent or unspent convictions. At EY, that means you’ll need to declare spent convictions when applying for programmes in Assurance, Tax and Transactions.

Learning for a Changing World - this stage will take approximately 90 minutes.
Learning on the Job - on average, this stage will take around 45 minutes. For our Business Apprentice and Degree Apprentice roles, you will also complete a numerical reasoning assessment as part of this stage and this should take up to 20 minutes.
The next stage of the application process is shortlisting ahead of our Experience Days. During this stage we will look at your application and performance throughout the whole process. If you are successful through the shortlisting process, you will then receive an invite for one of our Experience Days.
What is shortlisting?
Shortlisting involves looking at your application and performance throughout the whole process. Your application and performance will be reviewed, and the highest performers will receive an invitation for an Experience Day. If your application required a motivational statement or had a specific degree requirement, this will also be reviewed during the shortlisting process by the Student Recruitment team.
How long does the shortlisting process take?
Shortlisting is an on-going process, and so there is no strict timeframe for how long it will take. The timeframe will be dependent on the Service Line, location, and role you applied for. All applications will be reviewed based on their performance through the process so far.

Yes, if your application is unsuccessful at any of the assessment stages, you can apply again after 6 months from the date you were rejected out of the process. When you apply a second time, you’ll need to use a new email address because of restrictions in our system. Applications made before the 6 month time period has lapsed will be withdrawn.
If your application has been unsuccessful because the roles have been filled, we can’t accept another application from you this time around but we’ll be in touch if a vacancy becomes available. Or, if you’ve previously applied for an undergraduate position and were rejected, you don’t have to wait any amount of time before applying for a graduate position (but you will need to have graduated). And lastly, if you’ve chosen to withdraw your application or the area you applied to is full, then there’s no time constraint before you can apply again.
Yes. During every stage of our application process we’ll provide you with a written feedback report in your candidate portal. If you're unsuccessful after the final stage, EY experience, you can request feedback over the phone.
You can change your personal details online by logging into your account at any time. Please ensure your email address and mobile numbers are up to date, as this will be the primary method of communication with you.
Yes, you can delete these at any stage. To delete your account or withdraw a specific job submission, please email firstname.lastname@example.org from the email address you used to set up your profile.
Depending on how far into the assessment process you are, a member of our team may contact you to double check, before deleting your account. Once confirmed, your job submissions and/or your profile will be deleted.
If you have a British passport, bring this along to the assessment centre. We’ll need to see proof of your right to work in the UK.
If you’re invited to attend an assessment centre you must bring along original documentation AND photocopies of proof of your right to work in the UK. We’ll send you more information about what else you need to bring but above all, if you don’t bring this documentation and you haven’t told us in advance, we won’t be able to assess you on the day.
If you’re unable to bring original certificates to the assessment centre then please bring copies but if you get to the offer stage, we’ll still need to see originals then.
We sometimes have issues with Hotmail email addresses that often reject or block our emails. It’s best if you contact us using a different email address and also update the details in your EY profile too.
Please protect yourself. It’s not something that we’d ever condone anyone at EY to do, so in the first place we recommend ignoring it as it’s most likely a scam. There are internship or job scams that may be using false LinkedIn or Google+ profiles of EY people. Here are some common warning signs to lookout for:

That’s difficult to say because there's no typical week at EY and your hours will vary according to the project you're involved in. During busy periods, you may be asked to work late, more regularly at client sites or in some circumstances, at weekends. Our office dress policy is business casual. However, we're providing a professional service to our clients and they expect us to look the part, so formal business attire is appropriate for meetings with clients. The exception to this rule is when you're based at client sites and we encourage you to adopt the client's dress code policy.
