What is IT Risk and Assurance at EY?
Today’s organisations rely so heavily on IT and data that even the smallest mistake or security breach can impact their reputation or business performance. Working within the Assurance business area, we help clients spot and reduce the risks of this happening.

What will you be doing?
- Working directly with some of the world’s most prestigious organisations on key IT issues
- Analysing data to find risks and improve processes
- Taking ownership for testing and reviewing the effectiveness of key IT controls
- Developing your team management and people skills
Are you eligible to apply?
You’ll need a minimum of Level 2/GCSE (or equivalent) in English & Maths; if you don’t have this, don’t worry, we’ll arrange the required learning to complete as part of your programme. If you’ve completed three A-Levels, five Scottish Highers or the equivalent by the time
the programme starts, this apprenticeship is for you.

How’s it structured?
Following an EY induction, you can expect to jump straight into work on real client projects. You’ll be developing your core consulting skills, learning EY’s auditing methodology and helping clients feel confident about the quality of their data and IT security controls. Taking on genuine responsibilities is one of the best ways to learn and you’ll have enough support throughout so that by your second year, you’ll be able to start coaching others.
As well as in-house training and development opportunities, we’ll also give you time to study for your chartered accountancy qualification with the ICAEW. All this considered, you’ll progress in your career a lot faster than your university-going friends, gain relevant experience and professional qualifications, and a great network of peers to continue building your career.
