What’s it like?

Rachel was impressed by the variety of learning opportunities she had in her first year with us. Hear more about her experience in our Actuarial – Pensions graduate programme.

How’s it structured?

First up, you'll do an EY induction before jumping into the deep end and working on real client projects. Your team will be on hand to support as you contribute to actuarial audits that review company pension accounts, help create client reports on the key pensions-related merger and acquisitions risks, help to assess the current investment structure of our clients' pension schemes and much more. By your second year, you may even be responsible for supervising and reviewing the work of junior consultants in the team. You may also have the opportunity to work on projects in other actuarial areas (general insurance and life insurance) too.

Throughout the programme, you’ll study for actuarial professional exams (supported by a generous allowance) and have many opportunities to join training events and conferences, too. By the time the graduate programme is over, you’ll have a firm understanding of how to use analysis and modelling techniques to understand our clients’ business and the issues affecting them. Best of all, you’ll be well on your way to gaining the knowledge and experience needed to lead projects and people, and progress to more senior positions.
