What is Business Modelling & Analytics at EY?

Evaluating a potential transaction, market opportunity or strategic decision involves a lot of complex factors. We bring them all together in quantitative business models that help our clients understand the implications and act accordingly.

Our Business Modelling and Analytics team delivers a broad spectrum of services from complex transaction-related financial modelling and business planning through to decision support and analytics. When you join us you will have the opportunity to work on projects across the team and will have the opportunity to work flexibly across all areas, developing the broad range of skills required. Projects may focus on any element of the client's business; strategic, tactical or operational.

Our projects often involve multiple stakeholders and high degrees of complexity and uncertainty. Success in this environment requires a passion for financial modelling and data analysis along with exceptional client handling, communication skills, rigorous analytical techniques and excellent data handling skills.

How’s it structured?

Our structure encourages people to realise their potential at the earliest moment in their career, and progress as rapidly as they can. Shortly after joining you will be trained in EY’s model build and model review methodology. You will also be trained and encouraged to increase your responsibilities as soon as you have demonstrated your ability to do so, and you can expect to be immersed in client work almost immediately on joining.

We encourage you to take personal responsibility for your career, but at the same time we will support you in your professional development in every way we can. We offer on-the-job coaching, tailored development experiences, a programme of internal courses and other learning and development opportunities to broaden your knowledge and professional skills.

Guided by its senior members (teams typically range from one or two people led by a Partner or Director, through to large multi-disciplinary teams drawn from across the firm), you'll work in a team to build and review both financial and decision support models and processes to solve clients' problems across the Financial Services sector.

You'll contribute throughout assignments: defining requirements; designing, putting together and implementing models; reviewing models for accuracy and completeness; undertaking data analysis; designing and creating dashboards and training users.

Although our team are largely London based you'll work directly with clients' staff at their premises across the UK. You may also be required to work overseas from time to time.

You'll also support senior staff in the sales process by contributing to proposals and in other areas of service or practice development as needed.
